Pinocchio Theme Park - The Greatest Children’s Story Comes Alive

The Pinocchio theme park is a great day out if there are children in your vacation party. You can find it between Lucca and Pistoia, in the town of Collodi.

Pinocchio This is an alternative to walking round old buildings and telling them how wonderful the landscape is. Here you can return to your childhood with your family. A great way of keeping everyone entertained - with children I know how hard it can be - kids will love it and for you it’s a trip down memory lane.

Pinocchio is the story of a wooden boy that wanted so much to be human.

Carlo Collodi (born Carlo Lorenzini) came up with the story of a young boy made of wood and his adventures in his later years of writing. Once upon a time there was an old man called Giuseppe who had a block of wood? Well it was wasn’t it?

The park is dedicated to the early version of Collodi’s fable and is a little different to the popular story you grew up with. Building work began on the park in 1956 and carried on till 1987

Carlo Lorenzini wrote Pinocchio under the name Collodi after his Mother who was born in the town of Collodi. At the Pinocchio theme park you will find ample car parking where you can take a snack or try out the parks restaurant.

A whole bunch of wooden boys The story of Pinocchio is known all over the world translated in many languages.

Unfortunately Carlo Lorenzini never lived to see how wide read his story would become. He died in Florence 1890.

Film maker Walt Disney adapted the Pinocchio tale in his second animated film which became a hit everywhere and can still be seen today with characters such as Geppetto the toymaker and maker of Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket the conscience of the wooden boy, and the unforgettably sly fox J Worthington “Honest John”.
