Italian hotels great value for the money

hotels

In Italy we found most to be of high standard with the rooms in the hotels we visited being elegant and tastefully decorated and with en suite, no complaints throughout our vacation most costing between 50 and 70 Euro per night double room with breakfast, some had a free mini bar, while others you.

listed what you used and paid for at checkout time, the best value we found in the Marche region, in Tuscany a little more expensive and harder to find with rooms to spare in the summer months. We preferred to drive and see where the road took us most of the vacation.

Book in advance or take a chance ?

The advantages of pre booking
If it’s a specific town or city, it’s better to book in advance, or you could spend a lot of your vacation time standing in line at the tourist information desks or driving round and round. During our tour of Italy we found most of the hotels we stayed in guests had use of an internet connection or computer, so high touristy areas that we thought could be very busy we booked on line.

No time wasted searching on the old fashion fuel station paper maps, and if your travel companion isn’t too good at map reading, not only directions but your relationship can take a wrong turn. All the hotels visited had a large selection of information on events and places of interest, most of the staff spoke English and willing to advise if you stuck for choices, or in need of ideas of what to do.

Air cooling systems really are a must Italy can be very warm and sticky at night in the summer months. We found air-co a must to have in the room, though not all had air conditioning systems in their rooms. Be sure that after a day walking and sightseeing a nice cool room is just the heaven!

There are of course places to stay which cost a great deal more than what we paid, it all depends on your budget and you get what you pay for. Our overall view we would have to give very high score. And in Italy you get great value for your money.
